Performance Emphasis — Recital

Recital Preparation — 1 credit

Performance majors have to give a recital on their applied instrument during their last semester in the program. This class allows the musician time to explore and practice, with the help of their applied instructor, different repertoire they may be interested in presenting for their recital.

Recital I — 2 credits

The recital is the culmination of the performance program and is required for graduation with a performance emphasis. It will be approximately 45 minutes in length and will demonstrate the skills the student has acquired during their study. It will contain solo pieces, and if desired, ensemble material can also be performed.
