The rehearsal and performance of music in ensembles as it applies to the styles of contemporary music idioms. Skills taught include reading traditional notation, chart notation, improvisation, phrasing, dynamics, balance, interpretation, articulations, and stylistic considerations. Students are expected to take part in at least one recital performance situation.
